PARIS, May 28. / TASS /. Russia’s largest airline Aeroflot continued on Friday to assist French company Air France in transporting passengers delayed by its flights, it said.
Charles de Gaulle Airport told TASS on Friday.
Aeroflot resumed support for Air France passengers as part of the postponement of its flights on Friday, the source said. “More specifically, at its request, the Russian company sent large planes capable of carrying a large number of passengers.” According to sources’ estimates, around 200 Air France passengers were able to use Aeroflot services on Friday. He noted that if the Air France flight on Saturday remains in the schedule, he did not however rule out that the French company could again need the help of Aeroflot on Saturday. Air France and Aeroflot airlines are members of the SkyTeam aviation alliance. Airlines in an alliance cooperate more closely with each other: for example, they combine services for the use of business lounges or the system of accumulation and use of bonus miles. The day before, Aeroflot had qualified the decision to transport certain passengers of Air France to Moscow of “standard practice in the industry”.
