Mark Wahlberg’s house: discover his French-style castle in LA

‘Boogie Nights’ star Mark Wahlberg and his wife, model Rhea Durham, have put their incredible Beverly Park mansion up for sale for $87.5 million. If the actor sells the house for the asking price, it will be the most expensive house ever sold in Beverly Park.

The Hollywood A-listers built their version of one of the world‘s best homes in 2014, on six acres of land in the exclusive gated community near Mulholland Drive. Neighbors include Denzel Washington, Justin Bieber and British veteran rocker, Rod Stewart.

Designed by architect Richard Landry, the 30,500-square-foot property is made up of the main house, guest house, poolside cabana, and viewing pavilion — not to mention a golf course five-hole course and a skateboard park.

The home is the epitome of celebrity luxury, swamped with extra amenities. From the 20 bathrooms to the beautifully manicured formal gardens and skateboard park, this home is happily extravagant.

Such an elegant property would look just as at home in Italy as it does in France, yet it has been expertly designed to fit beautifully into the California landscape, with the rolling hills behind creating the perfect natural backdrop.

The two story lobby has an elaborate double staircase decorated with antique style wrought iron. Double doors open onto the pretty garden.

Taking inspiration from the classic style of English country houses, with an added touch of continental sophistication, the main living area is flooded with natural light and neutral living room ideas. It creates a comfortable and relaxing retreat from the world.

The paneled library rises on two floors. It is lined with classic highly polished wooden shelving and has a marble fireplace, one of at least seven in the traditionally styled house.

The formal dining room makes heavy use of symmetry in interior design; a breathtaking chandelier creates a strong focal point above the highly polished antique dining table.

This classic double island kitchen features two elegant marble islands. Both include smart storage and sinks, with plenty of space left over for a breakfast bar area, decorated with raffia bar stools. The house, for all its splendor, was designed for easy living – the kitchen leads seamlessly into the living room.
