Washington [US], June 4 (ANI): Netflix has released the first images of the highly anticipated fifth and final season of the incredibly popular “Money Heist” series (La Casa de Papel).
The first images were shared on the show’s official Instagram page.

The images reveal the chaos inside and outside the Bank of Spain; with the professor (Alvaro Morte) caught off guard after Sierra (Najwa Nimri) finds his hiding place and with Lisbon (Itziar Ituno) now safe inside the bank. The gang must bring out their tougher side to survive, fueled by angst, more weapons, and the desperation of not having a plan.

“Money Heist” is Netflix’s most successful Spanish series to date, and was its main non-English speaking foray until the French series “Lupine” debuted in December, Variety reported.
The series focuses on a group of unsuitable crooks and thieves who come together under the direction of the “professor” to rob the major banks in Spain.

The series originated from the Spanish network Antena 3 with lukewarm ratings before Netflix breathed new life into the program, turning it into the biggest show to ever come out of the Spanish market.
The streamer gave the green light to the next season of “Money Heist” in July of last year. The fifth season will mark the end of the gang’s ongoing heist at the Bank of Spain.
Created by Alex Pina and produced by Vancouver Media, the Spanish series became an instant hit on Netflix upon release.
Pina is the executive producer and showrunner with Jesus Colmenar and Cristina Lopez Ferraz also defined as executive producers. Javier Gomez Santander (chief screenwriter), Migue Amodeo (director of photography) and Esther Martinez-Lobato also co-produce with Colmenar, Koldo Serra and Alex Rodrigo on directing.
The fifth part of “Money Heist” features an astonishing cast of returning Spanish superstars, directed by Ursula Corbero, Alvaro Morte, Itziar Ituno, Pedro Alonso, Miguel Herran, Jaime Lorente, Esther Acebo, Enrique Arce, Darko Peric, Hovik Keuchkerian, Luka Peros, Belen Cuesta, Fernando Cayo, Rodrigo de la Serna, Najwa Nimri and José Manuel Poga.
Part five also sees the addition of Miguel Angel Silvestre and Spanish Oscar nominee Patrick Criado.
The final part of “Money Heist” will be split into two volumes, which will be released on September 3 and December 3. (ANI)
