Southern Cash and Pawn Gives Freebies For All | New
Pawn shops can be a one-stop-shop during the holiday season, and Southern Cash and Pawn owner Joey Slipher has said there is something for everyone in his shop, from guns to video games to instruments and jewelry.
Southern Cash and Pawn, located at 224 State St., McComb, has served southwestern Mississippi since 1987, offering the area’s largest selection of guns, as well as other gift-worthy items.
“We’ve sold a lot of jewelry, a lot of gaming systems, as well as new and used musical instruments,” Slipher said. “We sell both new and used gaming accessories.”
Slipher said his store had a bump during the holidays, mostly from people who came in looking for holiday gifts, but added that his biggest home during the holiday season was on loan, using items like leverage to help people get through the season with enough money to buy gifts. for each family member.
“Our first thing we do during the holidays to start off is lend money, and that’s what we do most of the time before Christmas,” he said, adding that there had no credit check and the loan did not affect credit. scores in any way.
“It would be on just about anything of value: electronics, jewelry, guns, tools and musical instruments.
“We provide loans to those who need the extra money this Christmas. Rather than getting a credit card, a lot of people choose to sell things to us or pledge them to us while we lend them money on their items.
“It’s a simple, short-term process that doesn’t affect your credit.”
Slipher’s next costliest article is on guns, noting that there was a shortage every now and then during the year, citing the pandemic and social unrest in the country, but the supply has since run out. stabilized on most firearms, except for a shortage of ammunition.
“Our # 1 seller in this industry has always been firearms and accessories, scopes, hunting accessories,” he said. “What we have experienced this year is the greatest shortage of firearms and ammunition ever in this country, or at least since World War II.
“Ammunition is the only thing we still lack, but we still have a lot. It’s just not business as usual. “
Slipher said his store has shotguns, large caliber shotguns, semi-automatic shotguns, and all types and calibers of shotguns, as well as handguns of all brands and calibers.
“But we still have a lot of handguns and rifles as well as self-defense weapons. There was a bit of a shortage on those, but they’re back now, ”he said.
Guns and spares aren’t the only things Southern Cash and Pawn do business in. There is a wide assortment of video games and consoles, from big brands like Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo.
The store also offers a large selection of power tools and jewelry. Southern Cash and Pawn is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sunday.
