State Representative Daley announces $ 1 million grant for AIM Academy expansion – thereporteronline

WHITEMARSH – State Representative Mary Jo Daley, D-Montgomery, today announced that AIM Academy has received $ 1 million in public funds for redevelopment and expansion projects under the D-Montgomery program. reorganization aid fixed assets.

The grant will go towards a new two-story addition to the academy, including new classroom spaces, offices and collaboration spaces, as well as the replacement of a parking lot with a green space.

“AIM Academy’s use of new and innovative teaching aids helps our young people achieve long-term success,” said Daley. “I am delighted to see the academy receive this money and continue to grow by being a leading institution in our community.”

AIM Academy is a research-to-practice school focused on children in Grades 1-12 with language-based learning differences.

Other AIM Academy projects affected by this funding will include renovations to existing training and boardrooms, cafeteria and kitchen, as well as modifications to the fourth floor of the building and lighting replacements.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Commonwealth Grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
